Update: 1 killed, 1 airlifted after crash in Davidson County

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — One person was killed and another was injured in a crash on N.C. 109 in Davidson County Tuesday night.

The crash happened just after 10 p.m. when a Mazda and a Ford pick-up, one going north and the other going south, collided on Highway 109 in the Silver Valley community.

The second person was airlifted to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

It is still unclear which way each vehicle was traveling or why the vehicles collided.

No names have been released.
