Eden Amick, 42, was driving north on I-85 when she lost control of her vehicle and it flipped. She suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Moses Cone Hospital. The front right passenger, 61-year-old Donna Howell, died from her injuries, and the back right passenger, who is a juvenile, was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Amick is charged with failure to maintain her lane of travel and misdemeanor death by vehicle.

This is Greensboro’s 19th fatal vehicle crash of the year. Speed was not a factor in the incident, police say.

I-85 was shut down for a short period of time but has since re-opened.

The investigation is ongoing.
