Colfax elementary students hold fundraiser to help Louisiana flood victims

COLFAX, N.C. -- You hear a lot about character education in school, but one elementary school isn't only learning real-life lessons -- they also are putting their compassion to work.

Students at Colfax Elementary School are far away from last month's flooding in Louisiana, but it doesn't mean they don't want to do something to show their support.

To help, the entire school has taken on the fundraising project by collecting gift cards and sending them to Live Oak Elementary School in Denham Springs, Louisiana.

Colfax Elementary School invites anyone to help by sending gift cards to the school at 9112 West Market Street.
