Today on Mommy Matters, we featured six free apps that are great for kids. All of the apps below are either free or currently at 99 cents.

All apps listed below have been free at one point, however prices can change frequently.

Free Coloring Book
This app is a simple coloring book, however it’s one of the best free apps for kids. It consistently ranks in the top 10 free apps for kids on iTunes.

Laugh and Learn Shapes
This is a great game for preschool children. The game helps children learn about different shapes. Another great, free option.

Shape Builder – the Preschool Learning Puzzle Game
This app is incredibly popular with young kids. It’s currently ranked in the top 5 in the app store. Choose the “lite” version for the free option.

Pickin’ Stix Classic
The game play of Pickin’ Stix is simple to learn. When the sticks fall, do your best to choose the top stick on the pile. Once you have cleared all the sticks, try again and see if you can beat your best time.

Angry Birds Star Wars
Angry Birds is back with probably it’s best game yet. Join an epic adventure with the Angry Birds in the legendary Star Wars™ universe. The iPhone version is currently 99 cents and the iPad version is $2.99. Expect a free version supported with ads soon.

Lego Heroes Movie Maker
This is a great option for kids that love Legos. It walks you through how to make your own stop-motion Lego movie.
