GREENSBORO, N.C. — Games, rides and good food -- what more could you ask for??
The 116th annual Central Carolina Fair begins Friday evening at the Greensboro Coliseum.
FOX8's Kerry Charles may not be a fan of rides, but today he braved one of the most thrilling ones at the fair -- Freak Out. He recovered and even helped make delicious funnel cakes.
The fair opens to the public at 5 p.m. Admission on opening night is free.
Taking place at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex, the fair will once again feature spectacular rides, carnival food and games, thousands of exhibits from local 4-H groups and wholesome family entertainment and attractions for all ages.
The fair’s opening night also features a free concert by Greensboro's Heartbeat of Soul. The concert begins at 7 p.m.
