Producer, AM – Regular Full Time

Do you want to produce a newscast that’s smart and relevant? WGHP/FOX 8 is looking for a dynamic producer to join our morning team. This producer will be responsible for overseeing the production of the newscast; choosing stories and placement of stories in the newscast.

You will write the bulk of newscast, with assistance from the associate producer. In addition, you will participate in story meetings and set up content and interviews. Coordinate crews as needed. Work hand-in-hand with the production department to communicate graphics needs and blocking of the show. Review meter and diary ratings to determine the direction for newscasts with news managers.

The successful candidate must be aggressive, have strong organizational skills, be creative, competitive, patient, and a strong team player. Must be a quick writer, demonstrating exceptional spelling and grammar. Must communicate effectively in the booth during a show and work one-on-one with talent in structuring the show. Must be able to effectively judge multiple live shots, satellite shots with anchors, and have a clean show. College diploma and 1-2 years of line producing experience preferred.

Producer, Planning AM – Regular Full Time

Can you help plan an interesting,  informative, and fun morning news show?  Do you have the organizational skills to juggle network live shots, local live shots, and a country band in studio live?  Those are just a few of the things you’ll be working on as an AM Planning Producer.  You’ll work a 7-4pm shift making sure the next day is set up, and the day after that is set up, and the day after that is set.  The main goal is to plan segments and big story coverage.  You’ll need to format and write the segment consulting with the Morning Executive Producer. You’ll also fill-in for the Morning EP during vacation times.

Be prepared to come in on weekends if something big is happening on Monday and also check your ego at the door since you might have to produce from time to time.

Overview
The National Sales Manager is responsible for all FOX 8, AntennaTV and MyFOX8.com sales activity through the COXReps national offices. Monitors and evaluates national rep’s sales performance; assists in training and development of sales representatives; participates in setting and is accountable for meeting financial goals; establishes and maintains positive working relationships with major agencies/clients.

Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategies to achieve national sales budget and/or share across multiple media platforms
Create and implement new ideas for generating revenue for all of our platforms.
Estimates the annual amount of advertising dollars to be spent in the marketplace and establishes a sales goal of a percentage of that amount.
Works with Sales Managers to price station inventory to maximize revenue.
Works with National Sales Coordinator to section and pre clear orders.

Focuses national rep on stations goals and objectives.
Creates a national action plan with target accounts and strategies.
Keeps rep updated of station policies, rates, selling opportunities, programming and success stories.

Keep Director of Sales informed with daily updates, weekly and monthly reports.

Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in marketing or equivalent-related experience

Requires analytical and technical skills to analyze markets and to package, price, and sell available airtime

Master Control Operator

The Master Control Operator is responsible for the overall on-air look of the television station through airing programming and scheduled station breaks.

· Updates and maintains signal control systems

· Maintains programming logs as required by station management

· Segments content and clips to the server and then trims and modifies it

· Prints traffic logs and appends logs to the data management system

· Monitors strength, clarity and reliability of incoming and outgoing signals and adjusts equipment as necessary to maintain quality broadcasts

· Selects sources from which programming will be received, or through which programming will be transmitted

· Reports equipment problems and ensures that repairs are made and makes emergency repairs to equipment when necessary and possible

· Ensures the station’s compliance with Emergency Alert System requirements

· Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements & Skills:

· Technical degree in Digital Electronics, Broadcasting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience

· Fluency in English

· Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

· Minimum three years’ experience with digital electronics systems in a television broadcasting environment (More or less depending on market size)

· Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.

· Strong PC/MS Office experience

· Experience with digital transmitters and other broadcast-related equipment

· Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
