Roe Roe, daughter of FOX8’s Chad Tucker, throws first pitch at Winston-Salem Dash game

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — Some members of the FOX8 family had a little fun this Memorial Day weekend.

Pearl Monroe, or “Roe Roe,” is the daughter of Chad Tucker, an anchor, reporter and host of the Piedmont Triad’s beloved Roy’s Folks feature on FOX8.

She had the special honor of throwing the first pitch at the Winston-Salem Dash game against the Hickory Crawdads on Sunday.

The whole family was there at Truist Stadium, showing their support and love for a brave girl who has been battling Leukemia ever since she was diagnosed in November 2019.

As of the end of May, she has nine more months of treatment to go.

“We pray her light helps bring awareness to pediatric cancer and the resilience of so many children and their families fighting tonight,” said Chad Tucker.
