Lauren Crawford

Lauren Crawford joins WGHP FOX8 as a morning news reporter. She moved to North Carolina in July 2021 and is very excited to be bringing you stories across the Piedmont Triad on weekdays.

Lauren’s passion for current events and journalism is a springboard to uncovering news and telling stories. She strives to report on daily news while creating a relationship with viewers that connects, inspires, and motivates.

Before joining FOX8, Lauren spent two years reporting for WBTW News13 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. During her time at WBTW News13, she covered major events including the COVID-19 global pandemic, Hurricanes Isaias and Dorian, a police officer killed in the line of duty, George Floyd protests, Blue Lives Matter rallies, elections, and many human-interest stories.

Born and raised most of her life in Fort Worth, Texas, Lauren graduated from Texas Christian University with a bachelor’s degree in news and media studies and a minor in business. She also lived in South Carolina growing up, (taking weekend trips with her family to mountains in North Carolina) and knew she wanted to live in the Carolinas again one day.

Lauren has always wanted to work in television broadcast in some capacity. She jump-started her career, completing internships at two news stations in the Dallas/Fort Worth market while at TCU. The process of developing stories, connecting with the community, and delivering impactful messages has always been something Lauren admires on the job.

When she is not waking up before sunrise for work, Lauren enjoys being with her family and friends, traveling, fitness, and finding new trails to walk her Goldendoodle.
