FOX8 WGHP’s Emily Mikkelsen writes for MyFOX8.com. They report on crime, LGBTQ issues and many other topics across the Piedmont Triad and North Carolina. They have also led MyFOX8.com‘s ongoing investigations into domestic terrorism in North Carolina and the U.S.

Emily Mikkelsen is a Greensboro native, born and raised. After graduating from GTCC’s Culinary Program, they worked in the restaurant and grocery industry for several years in various positions.

In 2019, Emily went back to school at UNCG and completed a bachelor’s degree in Media Studies, while working at FOX8 as part of the studio crew. They began working in the newsroom in June of 2021.

Outside of work, they’re a television enthusiast, writer and tattoo collector. They live in Greensboro with their partner, two cats and a large, goofy dog.
