Alex joined the FOX8 weather team in August 2022 as the weekend meteorologist.

Born and raised in the Piedmont, Alex’s love for the weather came from her summer job as a lifeguard.

The frequent summertime thunderstorms sparked her interest in meteorology and led her to graduate from the University of North Carolina Asheville with a degree in Atmospheric Science.

Following graduation, Alex packed her bags and moved 18 hours from home to be the weekend meteorologist at KTEN in Denison, Texas.

While in Texoma, Alex gained experience in severe weather and winter weather forecasting. She experienced the coldest temperatures on record in North Texas during the infamous February 2021 winter storm, that knocked out power and water for several days. Alex also experienced the record-breaking October 2021 where 31 tornadoes were confirmed in Oklahoma.

After two years of forecasting for North Texas and Southern Oklahoma, Alex is happy to be back in the Tar Heel State.

In her spare time, Alex enjoys reading books, hanging out with her dog, Enso, cheering for the Tar Heels and spending time outside.
