2 people taken to hospital after 40-foot tree falls on them

SAN FRANCISCO -- A 40-foot tree toppled and landed on two people Saturday in San Francisco, KGO reports.

The two people were walking on the sidewalk when the tree fell during rainy and windy weather.

The soil around the roots was saturated.

Both people hit by the tree said they were in pain and were taken to the hospital.

At least one parked car was damaged.
