Authorities try to corral alligator with an appetite for cars

CADDO PARISH, La. — An eight-foot alligator bit off a chunk of one deputy’s patrol car, according to KSLA.

The sheriff’s office reports that the alligator was spotted sitting in the middle of Louisiana Highway 1.

The deputies tried to contain the beast as they waited for wildlife experts to arrive, but it escaped into the North Caddo Parish hills.
