Man dead after deputy-involved shooting in Randolph County

RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — One man is dead after a deputy-involved shooting, according to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office.

The two deputies were reportedly not injured.

The incident happened after deputies responded to a suicide threat call on the 5200 block of Windemere Circle.

Deputies say the man engage the deputies which led to the man being shot.

The sheriff's office has not released the names of the man killed or the deputies involved.

The sheriff's office says it cannot release the status of the man because the State Bureau of Investigation has taken on the case.
