Woman says men posing as salesmen tried to force their way into her Davidson County home

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. -- A Davidson County woman is sounding the alarm after solicitors tried to make their way inside her home.

Claudia Russell says earlier in the week, two males in a white van, claiming to sell something, stopped at her home on Tall Pines Road.

"I told him when he came up to the door, 'I do not buy anything door-to-door, goodbye,'" Russell said.

When Russell asked the man to leave a second time he didn't budge and instead reached for the handle to open her door.

"I've never been so afraid," Russell said.

Thankfully, her storm door was locked.

When the two men left Russell's home she watched the van take off down the next street over.

Now, Russell is warning others to keep a close watch.

"You have to take care of yourself, you have to be aware of what is around you, you have to be aware of who is coming up to your door," Russell said.
