GREENSBORO, N.C. – Some Greensboro residents no longer have a place to live after a fire damaged an apartment building on Saturday.

Crews were called to 3206 Yanceyville Street, between Guest Street and Cone Boulevard, at about 4 p.m., according to authorities.

Six out of eight apartments in the building are uninhabitable, according to Assistant Greensboro Fire Chief Pat Henley. Two of them were heavily involved in the fire.

Everyone was able to safely escape and nobody was hurt. The department did not have to make any rescues.

The chief said there was heavy fire on the bottom floor apartment. Authorities are investigating what caused the fire.
