Police crews investigate stabbing that injured man in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Police in Winston-Salem are looking for a person accused of stabbing a man.

Patterson Avenue between Glenn Avenue and 16th Street was closed for an investigation, the police department tweeted shortly before 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

A photo posted to Twitter shows a portion of the street blocked by a police car and police tape.

Police told FOX8 that a man is in the hospital with serious, potentially life-threatening injuries after being stabbed.

Police said the crime was not a random act and the suspect and victim knew each other.

Authorities have not released the names of the people involved.

The road is now open.
