Motorcycle crash reported on Silas Creek Parkway in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- A man was cited for numerous traffic offenses after a motorcycle crash on Silas Creek Parkway in Winston-Salem Wednesday night, according to a press release from the Winton-Salem Police Department.

Officers responded to Silas Creek Parkway near the Robinhood Road interchange on a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.

Upon arrival, it was discovered that Thomas Price lost control of the motorcycle he was driving northbound on Silas Creek. The motorcycle came to rest in the grass median that separates north and southbound traffic.

At this time, it appears no other vehicles were involved. Price was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The northbound lanes of Silas Creek were closed to traffic for approximately 2 1/2 hours.

Price was cited for the following offenses: careless and reckless driving, simple possession of marijuana, no motorcycle endorsement, expired registration, no vehicle inspection, fail to register vehicle with DMV, fail to maintain lane, speeding, and failing to maintain insurance.
