CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two children were shot overnight while sleeping inside a Charlotte apartment, according to WSOC.

The boys, ages 9 and 11, were shot in the arm and hip but police said they are expected to be OK.

At about 2 a.m., the gunman walked up to the back of the unit inside the Little Rock apartment complex on Leake Street and opened fire into a bedroom window.

More than half a dozen bullet holes could be seen outside the home. Investigators said the shooter fired directly into the window, where the boys were sleeping.

Nobody else inside the apartment was hurt.

No arrests have been made and police have not released a possible description of the shooter.

They’re asking for witnesses to step forward so they can figure out who pulled the trigger and why they targeted that apartment.
