Suspect sought in theft of packages from front porch in Gibsonville

GIBSONVILLE, N.C. — The Guilford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of packages from the front porch of a residence in Gibsonville.

The theft happened Dec. 12 in the 6500 block of Bethel Church Road.

On Monday, the sheriff’s office released surveillance photos of the suspect and the suspect’s vehicle.

Anyone with information on this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (336) 373-1000.

The Guilford County Sheriff’s Office has seen an increase in reports of this type of theft over the past several weeks, and encourages citizens to be aware of any suspicious persons and/or vehicles in their neighborhoods, according to a news release.

The sheriff’s office offered the following recommendations to avoid having packages stolen:

  • Require a signature for delivery, or have your purchases delivered to your workplace.
  • Leave special instructions requesting your package be left at a side or rear door so it will not be as visible from the roadway.
  • Utilize real time tracking which is available from most major carriers.
  • Have a family member or neighbor look out for the package and secure it upon delivery.
