2 vehicles struck by gunfire in Walmart parking lot in Greensboro
GREENSBORO, N.C. — Two vehicles were struck by gunfire Monday evening in a Walmart parking lot in Greensboro, according to a news release from Greensboro police.
At 6:02 p.m., police responded to the Walmart parking lot located at 2750 Ring Road in reference to a discharge of a firearm. Upon arrival, several bystanders pointed officers toward a black Honda leaving the parking lot.
Officers attempted to stop the vehicle and short vehicle pursuit was initiated. During the pursuit, the vehicle stopped and a male passenger exited the vehicle and fled the area. The vehicle then continued a short distance and finally pulled over near Phillips Avenue and Huffine Mill Road. The female driver was taken into custody. The male subject was also located and taken in to custody.
Favour Chimdindu Chukwu, 21, of Greensboro, is charged with possession of firearm by felon, discharge of firearm in city limits, three counts of damage to personal property, delaying police investigation and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Ladanna James Mills, 20, of Greensboro, is charged with felony speed to elude, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a vehicle for use, storage or sale of controlled substances.
There were no injuries but two vehicles in the parking lot were struck by gunfire.
