HIGH POINT, N.C. – At least three students were arrested and one was injured during a fight at T. Wingate Andrews High School Friday afternoon.

Police responded to the incident at 1920 McGuinn Drive on Friday afternoon.

High Point police officers on the scene tell FOX8 some students were throwing water balloons containing bleach during lunch. Fighting broke out between groups of students.

A student was injured when her hand went through a glass door or window, officers said.

Officers did use pepper spray on some students, High Point police confirmed.

The three students arrested have been released to their parents. There is no word on charges.

“We had a significant number of students who engaged in behavior that is unacceptable and that we will not tolerate,” Principal David Miller said. “Those students will receive serious disciplinary consequences for their actions. It is not indicative of the students.”
