Burlington woman accused of stabbing man during argument

BURLINGTON, N.C. — A 27-year-old Burlington woman was arrested after police say she stabbed a man during an argument early Monday morning, according to a news release.

At about 12:28 a.m., police went to the 600 block of N. Church St. in reference to a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers determined that Shifay Atwater stabbed Rodney Enoch during an argument.

Enoch was treated by Alamance County Emergency Medical Services at the scene before being taken to the UNC Medical Center. He was last listed in stable condition.

Atwater is charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. She was treated for minor injuries and taken to the Alamance County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing.
