Woman hit by car, taken to hospital in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – A woman in Winston-Salem was taken to the hospital after being hit by a car that was driven onto the sidewalk.

Winston-Salem police said officers were called to the incident at 3581 Patterson Avenue at about 5:20 p.m. Friday.

Police said the driver was arguing with someone outside his car when he accidentally stepped on the gas and hit a woman.

The victim was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The car also hit a MetroPCS building.

Winston-Salem police said officers do not believe the driver’s intention was to hit anyone on the sidewalk.
