HIGH POINT, N.C. -- High Point police officers have arrested and charged three teens in connection with a carjacking, police chase and crash that ended along Woodbury Street Monday night.

Police got a report of a carjacking of a woman at knife point on Kendal Avenue at about 10:30 a.m. Monday.

The three suspects allegedly stole her 2002 Mazda, but the vehicle was spotted later that night about 11:45 p.m. The short pursuit ended with a crash into a telephone pole along Woodbury Street and one of the suspects jumping into the window of a nearby home in an attempt to escape.

All three suspects were arrested at the scene.

Officers have charged 16-year-old Demetrius Gainy Jr., 19-year-old Khalil Jones and a third young man under the age of 16. Each is charged with robbery, felony larceny, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, and felony fleeing to elude and resist, delay and obstruct. Capt. Mike Kirk said more charges are possible.

No one was seriously hurt during the carjacking, chase and crash.
