ORANGE CITY, Fla. — In what might be one of the most hilarious pictures ever, a woman in Florida captured a shot of an alligator seemingly riding on top of a manatee.

On Nov. 30, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission posted the picture on Facebook as part of a photo contest.

Even though it looks as if the gator is hitching a quick ride, an FWC spokesperson says they probably just crossed paths, WPLG reports.

“I would guess that these manatees were hanging out near warm water or heading to warm water and the alligator was looking for a sunny spot to hang out along the shoreline and they simply crossed paths,” the spokeswoman said in a statement.

Whatever the situation may be, the picture is a once-in-a-lifetime shot.
