GASTONIA, N.C. – A North Carolina man has been convicted of running a sex trafficking ring that spanned three states.

WSOC reported that Samuel Pratt, 34, of Gastonia, was found guilty of sex trafficking, child pornography and gun charges.

Pratt was convicted of running a sex trafficking ring in North Carolina, South Carolina and New York. He will be sentenced at another date.

Pratt is convicted of running a prostitution business of both adults and juveniles. Two of the victims were 14 and 17 when they were recruited.

Pratt’s mother, Daphne Pratt, previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to sex traffic children.

Samuel Pratt’s conviction is the first jury verdict on human trafficking charges in South Carolina.
