North Carolina man accused of murdering estranged wife

CARY, N.C. — A Raleigh man accused of murdering his estranged wife in Cary has turned himself in to police.

WTVD reported that David Sloan Williams, 55, is faces charges in the death of 51-year-old Michele Kennington Williams.

David Williams opened fire on the victim, leaving her dead inside the car, according to police.

Police said the victim was sitting in her car Friday evening when police say David Williams opened fire — striking and killing her. Several rounds hit nearby homes but no one else was hurt.

David Williams turned himself in to officers at about 7:15 p.m. Friday. He has been charged with murder and was taken to the Wake County Public Safety Center in Raleigh for processing.
