Burlington police investigate shots fired into occupied apartment

BURLINGTON, N.C. – Police are investigating a shooting into an occupied apartment in Burlington.

Burlington police said officers were called to the 1700 block of Whitsett Street at about 3:15 a.m. Saturday in reference to several shots fired in the apartment.

The apartment was occupied by two adults and four young children, but nobody was injured, according to Burlington police.

Police said the victim was not very cooperative and officers had to revisit the apartment with a search warrant to obtain evidence of the crime.

At this time, police said there is no known connection to any other crimes or viable motive.
