Police investigating report of woman assaulted at Forsyth Hospital

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Police are investigating a report that a woman was assaulted at Forsyth Hospital.

Officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department were called to the hospital at 3333 Silas Creek Parkway shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday in connection to the incident.

Security personnel told arriving officers that the victim was assaulted in the parking deck.

The victim told security that the suspect that assaulted her, displayed a handgun and then re-entered Forsyth Hospital after the assault.

The hospital was then placed on lock down, but investigators determined that a weapon was not involved and the listed suspect left the scene before police arrived.

The case is still in the preliminary stages of investigation, according to police.
