19-year-old accused of shooting, killing 17-year-old in King

KING, N.C. — A 19-year-old man is accused of shooting and killing a 17-year-old male in King, according to King police.

The shooting happened at an apartment complex at 113 Pineview Drive in King at about 4:15 p.m. Saturday, according to King Police Chief Paula May.

Roger Dale Phillips III, of King, was arrested and charged with homicide in connection with this incident, according to May.

Phillips is held without bond pending a first court appearance on Monday.

The name of the victim nor the reason for the shooting have been released.

May said the victim lived in Stokes County.

The investigation is ongoing.
