Police arrest Greensboro man accused of robbing bank in Kernersville

KERNERSVILLE, N.C. – Police have arrested a Greensboro man accused of robbing a bank in Kernersville, according to authorities.

Kevin Grady Simmons has been charged with common law robbery and was placed in the Forsyth County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond.

Kernersville police responded to the incident at Capital Bank at 1207 South Main St. shortly before 1 p.m. Friday.

The suspect allegedly entered the bank, demanded money and then left on foot with the cash. Police did not say if anyone was hurt.

Simmons was also served with two outstanding orders for arrest on unrelated charges, Kernersville police said in a press release. He has a preliminary court appearance planned for January in Winston-Salem.
