GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro police are investigating a stabbing where one person was taken to a hospital in Greensboro Wednesday morning.

Police were called to a house at 522 Franklin Blvd., near the intersection with Holts Chapel Road.

Lt. L. Patterson of the Greensboro Police Department said a woman received possible life-threatening injuries as a result of the stabbing. Her exact condition was not known.

Patterson said a possible suspect has been detained.

A section of Holts Chapel Road near Franklin Boulevard was closed to traffic while police investigated the scene, but has since re-opened.

Princess Carter, who said the victim is her aunt, said she is praying for her recovery. Carter and other family members stood outside the home Wednesday morning.

Two HVAC installers were working at a nearby house when the incident happened. One of the men, who declined an on-camera interview and declined to give his name, said he and a colleague took off their T-shirts and applied pressure to the three separate wounds on the woman until firefighters and paramedics arrived to take over patient care.
