Gunshots fired near occupied home in Burlington

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Burlington police are searching for answers are multiple gunshots were fired in the direction of an occupied residence late Wednesday night, according to a press release.

Police responded to the 800 block of E. Market St. around 11:54 p.m. in reference to a shots fired call. Upon arrival, officers discovered that several rounds were fired in the direction of the home.

No one was injured during the incident, but the homeowner says one bullet missed an occupant by about six inches.

The investigation is ongoing.
