ALVIN, Texas — The owner of a popular doughnut shop in Texas received a heartwarming note of encouragement from a young girl after surveillance video caught a woman stealing money from the store’s tip jar.

On Nov. 10, Daylight Donuts owner Andy Chhong shared the recording of the alleged thief on Facebook. Hoping to at least find the person who stole from his business, he received much more than he bargained for, according to KTRK.

After he shared the video, he later returned to his store to find a handwritten note with $4 attached to it.

The note read, “Dear Donut Man, my mom showed me the video of your money getting stolen. I’m sorry that happened. This is my tooth fairy money. Sorry that happened, Chloe.”

“She felt bad about what happened,” Chhong said, “and it’s just so amazing.”

He plans on giving Chloe free doughnuts for life.
