CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies are investigating after $250,000 in crack cocaine was found in a trash pile near a school bus stop in North Carolina.

The five and a half pounds of crack was discovered in the woods after narcotics officers received a tip, according to WBTV.

At the scene, Catawba County Sheriff deputies found the crack cocaine, scales, $2,600 in cash and several other items.

Neighbors are both furious and scared, citing their children’s safety as the first priority.

“I have a 10-year-old,” one woman said, “And children play in those woods all the time.”

So far, no arrests have been made.
