GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — An autopsy report showed that a 3-year-old North Carolina toddler was beaten to death and her mother’s boyfriend is the primary suspect in the murder, WSOC reports.

The release shows that Jordan Ann Dumont suffered 10 contusions to her chest and abdomen, 14 contusions to her left arm and at least six to her right arm.

William “Skip” McCullen was charged with first-degree murder in the death of the toddler on Aug. 16 after he told authorities he put her down for a nap around 1 p.m. on Aug. 15.

He told investigators that he then also took a nap and when he woke up around 3:30 p.m. he realized Jordan wasn’t in the home and the front door was open.

The girl’s remains, which were discovered later that day, were wrapped in a black sheet and was found lying in a hole beneath broken limbs and dry leaves.

The investigation is ongoing.
