HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Talent, opportunity and hard work mean success, and High Point Central High School senior Ryan Darden knows it's true.

Darden, a model athlete and honor student, never expected to be as fortunate as he is, but is happy for the opportunity to succeed.

"As a freshman, I never expected myself to be doing as well as I am right now," Darden said. "With sports, it's been tough, but I've been able to maintain my good grades and do well on the field."

He said it's important for other people to know they can also be as success as he's been.
