BURLINGTON, N.C. -- Police are investigating after a 21-year-old Burlington woman said she was groped and robbed early Tuesday morning, according to a press release.

Police say the woman was putting air in her flat tire at 728 N. Church St. when a man approached her several times. The second time, he shouted catcalls, grabbed her shoulders and pulled her into his personal space.

He then held her while touching her body and grabbed her buttocks and chest. The suspect took a small amount of cash from her pocket and continued to touch her until she told the man she had children. He then loosened his grip, which allowed her to get into her vehicle.

After reviewing surveillance video, police say the man was in his early to mid-20s and drove a 4-door Honda with aftermarket chrome rims.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Burlington Police Department at (336) 229-3503 or contact Alamance County Crime Stoppers at (336) 229-7100.
