ASHEBORO, N.C. — One person was killed and another was injured in a shooting at an Asheboro apartment complex Sunday evening, according to a news release from Asheboro police.

Asheboro police responded to Matthew Grande Apartments, at 2230 N. Fayetteville St., at 5:38 p.m. in reference to a welfare check.

Upon arrival, officers located Jordan Whitney Baldwin, 29, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.

A male subject was also located in the apartment with a gunshot wound. He was transported to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing, but no suspects are being sought at this time, the release said.
