GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. -- The numbers are in and nearly one-tenth of Guilford County eligible voters have already hit the polls for early voting. On the first day of early voting, more than 22,000 people went to the polls county-wide, according to the Guilford County Board of Elections.

Some popular polling places are seeing very large turnout, including Jamestown Town Hall, the Bur Mil Club House and Leonard Rec Center. They saw as many as 1,500 voters come through in on Thursday.

Other sites, including the Allen Jay Rec Center, are seeing lower turnout closer to the 200s as of Thursday. If you plan to vote over the weekend, check out the turnout at these locations and find a polling place close to you that won’t be as popular.
