Delivery driver’s pizza stolen during armed robbery in Burlington

BURLINGTON, N.C. — A Papa John’s Pizza delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint overnight, according to Burlington police.

At about 1:41 a.m., police responded to the Papa John’s Pizza at 2567 S. Church St. and discovered the delivery driver was taking an order to a house in the 1400 block of Peace Lane when the robbery happened.

The driver said he got the delivery out of the back seat when the suspect pointed a semi-automatic handgun at him. The man then took the delivery and fled on foot.

Police say a K-9 track was executed, but no suspects were located.

The driver was not injured and the investigation is ongoing.
