2 Lexington women charged with leaving 2-month-old baby at home
LEXINGTON, N.C. — The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office arrested two women in connection with leaving a 2-month-old baby and 7-year-old child at home under a 12-year-old child’s care, according to a press release.
On Oct. 23, deputies responded to 668 Gate West Drive in reference to an infant being left in the care of a minor. Upon further investigation, they discovered the two children were left alone with the pre-teen and had to feed themselves and had no phone in the residence in the event of an emergency.
The Department of Social Services was notified and attempted to contact the children’s mothers but were unsuccessful. Social Services took custody of the children and warrants were taken out for the infant’s mother and other two children’s mother.
Ann Marie Anderson, 38 and her 18-year-old daughter Kaneisha Rene Johnson were arrested and taken into custody.
Anderson was charged with two counts of child neglect and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Anderson was charged with one count of child neglect and one count of delinquency of a minor.
Anderson was given a $25,000 bond and Johnson received a $15,000 secured bond. They both have a Nov. 14 court date.
