LOS ANGELES — The man who allegedly vandalized Donald Trump’s Walk of Fame star with a sledgehammer has been arrested.

Deadline Hollywood reports Jamie Otis was arrested after he boasted about the vandalism on Wednesday. Otis had planned to hold a press conference at 9 a.m. Thursday morning to take responsibility for the act but was detained before he could.

He originally intended to remove the star and auction it off to raise funds for the 11 women who accused the Republican presidential nominee of inappropriately touching them.

The real estate mogul and Republican presidential candidate received the star, located at 6801 Hollywood Blvd. near the Dolby Theater, in 2007 for his work on NBC reality show “The Apprentice.”

Otis says he is “happy to go to trial” if need. Trump’s star is already being repaired.
