Woman accused of embezzling more than $275K from Forsyth County funeral home
FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. — A woman is accused of embezzling hundreds of thousands of dollars from a Forsyth County funeral home.
Teresa Ashley Marion, 57, of Pinnacle, is charged with accessing a computer to defraud or obtain property and embezzlement by an employee, according to a news release from the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.
On March 25, sheriff’s investigators responded to Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall following a report of embezzlement.
Based on evidence gathered by investigators, Marion was arrested on Sept. 30.
Marion was released from the Forsyth County Detention Center after posting a $50,000 secured bond.
The total amount embezzled was $278,666.51, the sheriff’s office said.
Marion is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 8.
