FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – A vehicle crashed in Fayetteville on Saturday after the driver ignored the barricades, according to police.

Fayetteville police responded to the incident shortly after 4 p.m. on Bingham Drive near the intersection of Tiree Drive.

No one was seriously injured, but 68-year-old driver Darrell Musselwhite was taken to the hospital to be evaluated, police said in a press release.

Musselwhite has been charged with driving around a barricade into a safety zone, according to Fayetteville police.

Police said Musselwhite drove his 2015 Nissan Rogue around the barriers blocking the roadway and crashed into the collapsed roadway as a result of flooding from Hurricane Matthew two weeks ago.
