WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Wake Forest University staff members are heading to eastern North Carolina Monday, making stops in Tarboro and Rocky Mount to distribute disaster relief items.

Victims of Hurricane Matthew will receive a number of items collected by students and faculty: water, food, baby formula, pillows, clothes and much more.

The items are being given to the Red Cross, so workers can distribute them to those in need.

The university filled up a 42-foot bus with disaster relief items, and also a box truck.

Not only did those from the Wake Forest University community donate, several from the Winston-Salem community did as well.
