DENTON, N.C. — A Troy man was arrested after deputies say he hit his girlfriend in the face and pushed her down steps over potatoes.

The Davidson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to 2941 Surratt Road on Sunday in reference to a domestic call. During the investigation, 25-year-old Thomas Graham, of Troy, was arrested for the assault after deputies say he got into an argument with his girlfriend Erica Britt over how he wanted his potatoes prepared.

He was charged with assault on a female and taken to a local jail, where was given no bond.
