CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — An Asheboro man who killed two adults and one child while driving drunk in July 2015 pleaded guilty on Monday.

WNCN reports that 21-year-old Chandler Kania’s Jeep Wrangler crossed into oncoming traffic and hit a Suzuki with four people inside. Three of the four died.

The crash killed 49-year-old Felicia Harris, 46-year-old Darlene McGee, and 6-year-old Jahnice Beard, who was in the backseat.

The fourth passenger was hospitalized with serious injuries but survived, and Kania was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.

Both sides reached a plea deal Monday morning and the trial is expected to begin on Tuesday.
