BURLINGTON, N.C. – About 2,500 people attended the second annual Pride Festival in downtown Burlington on Saturday, according to organizers.

The festival featured performances by the Triad Pride Men’s Chorus, the Megan Doss band, street dance group Endo FX and a two-act drag show hosted by local drag queen Stormie Daie.

“The event was a tremendous success based on the size of our community,” said Ken Smith, Vice President of Alamance Pride.

Smith said the event was started last year to build a sense of community and to help make Alamance County a more welcoming, inclusive place for the LGBTQIA people.

“In its second year, Alamance Pride is already one of the largest annual events in the county,” Smith said. “We look forward to continued growth in the future.”
