Suspects caught in early morning robbery of Greensboro Walmart

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Walmart on Wendover Avenue in Greensboro was robbed early Wednesday, according to a news release.

Police responded to the Walmart at 4424 W. Wendover Ave. at about 12:50 a.m. in reference to a robbery.  During the commission of a larceny, a suspect slashed at the security guard with a large knife.

The suspects then fled in a red pickup truck toward W. Wendover Avenue.

The suspects were located by police on Hilltop Road at West Gate City Boulevard and following a brief foot pursuit, both suspects were taken into custody without incident.  The merchandise and the weapon were recovered.  No injuries were reported.

The investigation is ongoing.

The name and address of the victim are being withheld temporarily.
